Ralph & Russo Wedding Dresses | Official Bridal Collection
Every Ralph & Russo wedding dress begins in our London atelier, where master artisans translate hand-drawn sketches into wearable sculpture. We use European silk mikado, French Chantilly lace, and Italian tulle sourced exclusively for bridal construction. Each gown requires 200-400 hours of handwork — beading, embroidery, and structural draping that holds its shape without rigid boning.

Ralph & Russo wedding dresses use fabrics selected for their performance under stage lighting, camera flash, and hours of wear. We source silk mikado from Italian mills that weave the fabric at a specific weight — heavy enough to hold structure, light enough to move naturally. French Chantilly lace comes from century-old looms in Calais, where the thread density creates patterns that photograph with crisp detail rather than blurring into texture.

Sizing and made-to-order process
We do not stock sample sizes. Every Ralph & Russo bridal gown is cut and sewn to your measurements, taken during an initial consultation at our London atelier or an authorized partner location. The process begins with six core measurements — bust, waist, hip, hollow-to-hem, shoulder width, and arm length — then adds fourteen additional points for precise bodice contouring.
Timeline from order to delivery
Production takes sixteen to twenty weeks from final pattern approval to shipping. You attend three fittings: muslin mockup at week six, first toile at week ten, and final gown at week fifteen. Each fitting includes adjustment notes that go directly to the lead seamstress assigned to your dress. We build in two weeks of buffer before your wedding date to accommodate any last-minute alterations, though ninety-two percent of our gowns require no changes after the final fitting.

Care instructions and preservation
Ralph & Russo wedding dresses require professional cleaning within two weeks of your wedding to prevent set-in stains from champagne, makeup, or environmental soil. We provide a list of recommended textile conservators trained in handling embellished silk — standard dry cleaning solvents can dull crystal facets and weaken silk fibers over time.
Storage after your wedding
Store your gown in a breathable cotton garment bag in a climate-controlled space away from direct sunlight. Avoid plastic bags, which trap moisture and cause yellowing. If you plan to preserve the dress long-term, use an acid-free storage box with unbuffered tissue paper supporting the bodice and train folds. Refold the gown every twelve months to prevent permanent creases from forming along fold lines. Our preservation guidelines include detailed instructions for inspecting embroidery integrity and silk condition annually.

Wedding dress questions for brides
Production takes sixteen to twenty weeks from your final pattern approval to delivery. This timeline includes three fittings at weeks six, ten, and fifteen, plus two weeks of buffer before your wedding date. We recommend booking your initial consultation at least seven months before your wedding to accommodate the full made-to-order process and allow time for any final adjustments.
Yes. We include one complimentary modification within three months of your wedding date to accommodate weight fluctuation or minor design changes. Additional alterations are available at our atelier or through authorized partners. Bring your gown back to us rather than a local tailor, since our construction techniques require specific knowledge of couture seaming and embellishment handling.
We use Italian silk mikado, French Chantilly lace from Calais, silk duchess satin, silk crepe, and European tulle. Each fabric is chosen for its performance under professional lighting and camera work, plus its ability to hold structure or drape depending on the silhouette. All silks come from mills we’ve partnered with for over a decade, ensuring consistent quality and weight specifications.
Every gown is made to your exact measurements regardless of size, so there are no standard size limitations. During your consultation, we take twenty measurements to create a pattern specific to your body. Our construction techniques — including strategic seaming and built-in corsetry — are designed to flatter a range of proportions without requiring separate sizing categories.
Have your gown professionally cleaned within two weeks of your wedding using a textile conservator experienced with embellished silk. Avoid standard dry cleaning, which can damage crystal facets and weaken silk fibers. Store the dress in a breathable cotton garment bag in a climate-controlled space away from sunlight. For long-term preservation, use an acid-free box with unbuffered tissue and refold the gown annually to prevent permanent creases.
Yes. Every crystal, seed pearl, and lace motif is positioned and sewn by hand using couture embroidery techniques. This process takes 80-150 hours per gown depending on design complexity. Hand placement allows our artisans to adjust density and direction to complement your body’s proportions, creating results that photograph with depth rather than appearing flat or repetitive.
We offer modifications to neckline depth, train length, sleeve style, and embellishment density during your initial consultation. The core silhouette remains true to our design aesthetic, but we adjust details to suit your venue, personal style, and comfort needs. Major structural changes require approval from our design director to ensure the gown maintains its intended proportions and construction integrity.
